When it comes to digital phone recorders there are primarily 2 types, Line Activated and Voice Activated. The line activated does not use any battery power in between phone calls. So, even if it takes you a month to accumulate 15 hours of phone conversation, the 2 AAA batteries will last that long.
On the other hand, the Voice Activated recorders use battery power just waiting for a phone call. Thus, the 2 AAA batteries only last about 8 hours regardless whether you made or received even 1 phone call.
Some other things to keep in mind are Auto Advance. This means that after a folder has filled up with the alloted messages it will automatically advance to the next folder. For example, the Deluxe Digital Series has 8 folders that contain 128 files in each folder. This will allow you to accumulate 1024 time, date, and stamped phone calls without ever giving it any attention when you are using the included AC power supply.
The only Line Activated Digital Recorder we offer is the DPR-34. If you must depend on battery operation only, this is the smartest choice. You will notice we also use the term "0 Battery drain", this is basically synonymous with line activation. The line activation function is disabled when using this as a room recorder, or when connected to the handset/headset adapter. It only operates when connected to your phone line.
None of these recorders will operate on a Digital phone multi-line system such as a PBX system. Companies and businesses that actually have digital phone lines from the phone company coming into the building will not trigger the recording mechanism. If your phone has hold buttons and can accept more than one phone number or phone call, then you must use the handset/headset adapter which will connect directly to one particular phone. All of our recorders must receive an analog signal.
Do not be confused by the above statement concerning a digital telephone or cordless phone in your home. Almost all homes have analog telephone lines coming into their homes and almost all telephones are now digital. This is not considered a digital system.
Phone recorders and digital voice recorders can be used for many applications. Many of our phone recording devices start recording when the receiver is lifted, and stops when the phone is hung up. They record from all extensions on the same phone line. These phone recorders are very simple to install - just plug into a standard modular jack. Some are a two-speed automatic phone system. They can tape all the phone calls automatically for accurate records of sales, orders and conversations.
We also have hand-held phone recorders that have some of the most amazing features currently available on the market. They are a voice-activated system that starts and stops recording by detection of voice or sound, which prevents wasted tape during silent pauses. These phone recorders work on single, multi-line analog/digital PBX system, and any phone with a modular handset cord. They record conversations on any line extension of the line in use. These phone recorders connect easily through the handset connection of your telephone. Our website sells phone recorders that are perfect for anyone who wants to record their telephone conversations.
